Solid Design Solutions tackles engineering challenges with innovation and change-agent product development and machine design.
The Minnesota-based company recently announced the launch of a Wichita location and has added staff in the Air Capital. Macen Shinsato will serve as Chief Officer of Technology and Innovation, while Rich Kilgour will join the Wichita office as Vice President of Business Development.
“Solid Design has built a reputation for innovation and smart solutions,” says Solid CEO and President Pete Gustaf. “Both Macen and Rich continue this heritage by bringing the expertise and experience needed to create, design and develop products that change people’s lives.”
Shinsato comes to Solid after 13 years at NetApp and has a strong background in program management, product design and process development. He has developed a wide range of products for medical, military avionics, aerospace, consumer electronics, networking and laboratory industries.
Kilgour spent more than 16 years at NetApp growing original equipment manufacturer (OEM) businesses and managing large customer relationships. Prior to NetApp, he worked in product management and commercial development roles in various chemical technology fields at Koch Industries.
“As an end-to-end product development and machine design firm we develop concepts and provide complete solutions for a wide range of industries and products. We are always looking for the optimal result to address whatever challenges our clients face,” says Gustaf. “Both Macen and Rich will be able to achieve what we set out to do each day at Solid – take change-agent ideas and move them into quality production.”
Solid plans to hire additional staff for the Wichita location. Positions include engineers, designers, project managers and clerical workers. Potential applicants can learn more on our career page.
